Fashion: The Holiday Edit

Fashion: The Holiday Edit

With our last summer holiday just around the corner, I thought I would do a quick post on some of the new summer pieces I have added to my collection. For some reason I find holiday shopping super easy. I’m a bit like a kid in a candy store to be honest (if only I had limitless amounts of money!). There are so many nice dresses, jumpsuits and skirts in stores right now, it’s hard not to buy everything. And don’t even get me started on swimwear and sandals.

For holiday style, I like to mix and match high street with high end, similar to may day to day style. But I’m a big fan of investment pieces when it comes to dresses, swimwear and accessories. Sadly, I am not a fan of high street swimwear as I find that it generally doesn’t last more than a few wears – and an out of shape bikini doesn’t help anyone to look good!

Before I buy any new pieces, I always try to pull out my summer wardrobe and look at what I already have – because let’s be honest, we are all guilty of buying five white dresses that have been worn once thanks to the fabulous British summer! Once I have figured out what is missing/ what I ‘need’, I fill in the gaps with some new pieces. My holiday wardrobe really is a mish-mash of old and new. Some of the older pieces have lasted me a lifetime, like my Missoni kaftans, and will continue to do so for many years. As long as the sun is shining, they will come everywhere with me.

So, here’s what I am adding to my case, along with some golden oldies that you will no doubt see on my Instagram.

Happy holidays

Neeve and Noor Juniper Dress – I’ve been lusting after this dress for a while, and this time around I couldn’t resist. The prints are stunning and the cut is super flattering. Whether you wear it day or night, these dresses are fabulous.

Ellen and James White Bag – We just can’t seem to get away from rattan at the moment, and for good reason as it looks fab with everything in the sunshine. I have gone for something a little different at Ellen and James with this white one as I really wanted a white bag. It’s really versatile as can easily be dressed up for evenings or down in the day with a kaftan. It is also bigger than it looks inside! Very handy for toddler snacks.

Marysia Santa Barbara Swimsuit – Who can resist anything from Marysia? I’m not a huge swimsuit fan as I like to tan without tan lines (although there’s very little of that going on these days with a toddler around), but buying this swimsuit has completely changed my view forever. The cut is super flattering and it is so comfortable on.

Pampelone Formentera Mini Dress – I am a huge fan of Pampelone as you will know if you follow my IG and I’ve just invested in this light blue off the shoulder dress. It’s perfect for everyday at the pool/around the hotel or for a casual dinner in the evening with some nice flats.

Aquazzura Wild Things flats: I have wanted these flats all summer and then miraculously they went in sale last week so I snapped up a 39 instantly. Now, I definitely do have enough flat shoes, but I actually don’t have any white ones, and these are an investment purchase for sure.

Ba&sh Uriel Dress – This dress is one of my favourite sale purchases of the summer. It is so flattering on, such a gorgeous powder blue colour and so comfortable to wear. Definitely an investment piece that will be worn time and time again. I will be saving this for a lovely dinner!

Topshop Jumpsuit – My high street hero. When I buy high street, my ‘go to’ stores are without a doubt Zara and Topshop. This jumpsuit can easily be dressed up or down, and it’s really lightweight for warmer evenings.

Current/Elliott Shorts – Everyone needs a pair of cut off’s for their holiday. I own quite a few of these Current/Elliott ones and they never disappoint. They are super stretchy and comfortable and not ‘too’ short either so you don’t feel too exposed. Perfect for wandering around the shops or down to the beach alike – and look great once you’ve got a tan.

Kenneth Jay Lane Earrings – Big earrings are on trend at the moment and very new to me as I am a typical minimalist when it comes to jewellery. But I have realised that if you buy reasonably good quality ones, they will last a long time without tarnishing. I’ve added these to my (very small) collection of large earrings – the perfect way to spruce up a plain white or black outfit on holiday.
